Leadership Development Training for New Leaders annd Emerging Senior Managers
Challenge: A global manufacturing and merchant company requires the development and delivery of a two-tiered Leadership Development Training Program for new and emerging leaders and senior managers. The focus of the training programs is on leadership competency and skills development and the design and delivery of a significant business project by each participant. The objectives are to build and develop leadership capabilities to achieve business results and to create high performance work cultures.
Method: Designed with an associate and co-facilitator two linked skills based Leadership Development Training Programs. Delivered these residential programs at two levels over the past three years as 2 one week modules and 3 one week modules. The programs are a combination of skills training, individual coaching, assistance with the development and implementation of Business Projects and the preparation of Professional Development Plans linked to the company’s performance management system.
Outcomes: To date all participants have successfully completed the Leadership Training Programs. A significant number have been promoted to more senior positions in the company within 18 months of completion of the programs. Feedback from senior management, participants managers and participants has been positive and company support and engagement has been strong.
