Change Management Case Study
Challenge: Against a background of rolling-out a range of organisational change management initiatives and processes across a national engineering business it was considered critical that the leader and each of the members of the management team gain an in-depth understanding of their own, and the team’s unique skills, qualities and potential limitations and develop team action plans to maximise the skill sets and address indicative limitations in a structured way.
Method: A team briefing on the change management assignment, its objectives and desired outcomes and a consequent tailoring of the methodology and processes. Each team member completed a work styles preferences self-assessment and a 360 degree assessment by their peers. Individuals were given one-on-one feedback and strengths and areas for professional development were identified and agreed. A number of coaching sessions were conducted with each team member and as a result individual development plans and targets were documented and signed off. Progress was monitored against plan targets. In parallel a series of team planning workshops were conducted to identify critical operational and team issues and to develop strategies and plans to address these.
Outcomes: Increased team synergy and alignment. An enhanced understanding of team members unique strengths and contributions. Agreed professional development plans in place. Agreed strategy and plans to implement change management initiatives and processes. Significant improvement in individual performance effectiveness of team members.
